Did you know the famous Japanese sweet shop Hori from Sunagawa City? They have produced some popular  souvenirs of Japanese western style sweet which use abundant local ingredients of Hokkaido:  Yubari Melon, Indian millet (Toukibi) and potato.

“Toukibi (Indian millet) chocolate ” 

One of the excellent sweets made by Hori from Sunagawa City, Hokkaido. It won a gold medal at Monde Selection. A square pole cookie with Indian millet wrapped in white chocolate. The corn and white chocolate are superb.

“Potato kolo kolo”

Many farmers in Hokkaido grow potatoes. These okashi confectioneries used high quality potatoes from Hokkaido and made  fragrant taste Okaki( kaki-mochi). There are 5 kinds tastes: garlic taste, saltiness, wasabi taste, red pepper taste and cheese taste.
