“Tiny Pretz  with Hiroshima okonomiyaki flavor”

You know what? Okonomiyaki is one of the most popular home cooked dishes in Japan.
Okonomiyaki is usually cooked on an iron plate at the table.
It is made of flour mixed with some water and minced cabbage as batter, and thinly sliced pork, seafood, and other vegetables like spinach placed on top.

The Hiroshima style okonomiyaki, or “hiroshimayaki”, is actually double the height of a normal okonomiyaki, because the Hiroshima version is double layerd. The difference between the normal okonomiyaki and hiroshimayaki is that the way the batter is prepared.

It is a Hiroshima style okonomiyaki.

For the normal okonomiyaki, the batter is mixed with minced cabbage before grilled on an iron plate, while the batter for hiroshimayaki is prepared separately from minced cabbage; the minced cabbage is placed on top with the other ingredients on the iron plate .

A sauce named “otafuku” and real cabbage powder is added to Pretz to bring a genuine taste of Hiroshima to it.

It is an “otafuku” sauce.

Therefore, just a bite of C will give you an idea of what the real taste of hiroshimayaki is like.  There is a recipe for hiroshimayaki on the back of the package. One box contains 6 small boxes, so it is perfect to distribute as a souvenir.

By the way, have you ever tasted okonomiyaki or takoyaki? Takoyaki is a round-shaped, ball-like dumpling, also made of batter and grilled on a special iron plate and tastes pretty much like okonomiyaki. Such foods made of flour are my mom’s most favourite and she cannot live without them.

Notez.
There are so many okonomiyaki restaurants in Japan, and they are all unique in their recipes for sauce and choices of ingredients. Therefore, you can enjoy different tastes from various okonomiyaki restaurants.
